  • Jon, I’m desperate … my ‘63 KG’s left rear axle is leaking trans lube through two new axle seal kits…one installed by a professional mechanic and one by me with help from a Haynes Manual. I was trying to find the actual source of the leak but there is so many brake parts in the small area that it’s almost impossible to locate a specific spot. are there any tricks or situations to check for to make a good install. I also had another question….I believe my pro mechanic put synthetic gear lube in the trans; is there a possibility that the seals won’t work with that type of lube? Kevin Kelley

  • Question for Tech Talk
    Hello Jon,
If I use a 78mm crank, stock length rods, and 35mm compression height pistons will I end up with an acceptable deck height without increasing the width of the engine?
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge,

  • I have a 1981 VW Vanagon camper, which needs a new AC compressor. Which compressors do you recommend?
