KING OF BEETLES - The Yellow Black Racer was the pinnacle of the Beetle family and it looked like a relative of the legendary Salzburg Kafer. However, the looks didn't match the performance. It was offered with a 1.6-liter, 50-horse engine. Not enough for Thomas Zeltner, hence he increased the power of his Super B to 220 hp! THE SHARP RAZOR'S EDGE By his own account, Shawn Herrera's first VW experience left him somewhat sour. He had spent his hard-earned summer job money at age 15, to purchase a '61 convertible, turning wrenches at nights to get it ready for the following school year.
